The 15th - “First Glimpse”
You’ll need all of your senses to bring you round home over the last four holes, but take just a second to notice the unimpeded view of the mountain side you have in the distance of the green...Now, back to your game.
The tee shot on the 15th gives you multiple choices. There is room down the center to left center of the fairway to hit it hard and leave a short shot to the green, but this choice brings the left bunkers and wetlands on the right into play. The safer play is short of the wetlands where the fairway is quite wide.
However, you should also consider the location of the pin before making a choice on which side of the fairway to play. The green is shaped in a very subtle horseshoe so that a pin on the back left is better approached from the right side of the fairway; while a pin on the back right is better approached from left. The back right pin makes locating your tee shot on the left more important due to the bunker that is short right of the green. If you end up with the bunker between you and the pin, favor the middle of the green. Your strategic thoughts are not yet over because you must also keep in mind 10 Mile Creek right behind the green. Try not to go fishing.
