The 16th - “Run with it”
Darn! That view again. But, in front of you is a par three that may lead to lasting memories. At worst it will leave you wanting to turn around and fight it again.
The wind will dictate play here. A wind in your face can add as much as three clubs to the shot. Don’t be intimidated by the look of the hole, keeping in mind that par is a bonus. The only place not to hit it is over the mounds on the right. If you normal shot pattern is from left to right, take it at the bunker on the left and let the ball drift into the green. The left bunker is actually not a bad spot for a miscued shot.
The green is long, but narrow, and contains three very subtle levels. Because each level falls off the edge of the green, recovery shots will likely be uphill if you take care to “short side” your approach. This means if the pin is front left, favor your approach to the front left. If the pin is front right, favor your approach to the front right. If the pin is in the back, favor your approach towards the back.
