The 17th - While this is the shortest par five, it is also the most interesting. The tee shot allows players to “bite off as much as they can chew”. Looming to the left is the placid lake and a series of three progressive bunkers. The more you carry on the left, the shorter your next shot to the green. Longer players must be aware of the bunker in the middle of the fairway as it will catch the slightly errant long tee shot.
If you choose to go at the green realize that long of the green is another captivating wetland and a series of three bunkers loom on the left. If you have any doubt, there is plenty of room to lay-up. When laying up favor the center to right center. Unlike the 11th the closer you can lay-up to the green the more favorable approach you will have to this small, but undulating green. While the green is undulating, its contours will help to feed shots to the differing pin locations that are possible, so to recognize that you may not have to play directly at the flag.
