The 7th - “Surprise”
Sitting in a cradle, this hole gives the player an inviting surprise when they ascend to the crest of the fairway and are given an extraordinary view. This hole will typically play the longest on the course due to both length and the prevailing wind.
The more aggressive line of the tee from the back tees is just over the bunkers, while the forward tees should stay just right. Any shot left of the middle will collect to the right, while a rough grass swale down the right awaits to swallow up balls. the best shot off the tee is a slight fade that will tend to the right side of the fairway as the right side leaves the best angle to the green. If the pin is back right, a tee shot on the left may be the best chance to get an approach close.
The green is multi-faceted with a front section that feeds off the front, a lower middle section that feeds off to the left, and a back section that feeds off the back. When the pin is on the front players should favor the short side. Getting close to the pin on the back will require most to land shots short of middle and let the ball run to the back.
